BEAR

Last night at our Blue & Gold Pack Meeting, Taige was awarded his Bear.  He recently turned 10 and is now in Webelos!
Taige is pinning on my Mother's pin.

Planning for the Future

Several days ago Hallie drew a picture of a family.  I was really impressed as I looked at the picture and counted 10 people in it.  I thought how conscientious she was to even include Grandma Jackie.  I then asked her who each person was.  She pointed to the mom in the middle and said, "this is me" and pointing to the dad, she said, "and this is Justin Beber and these are ALL of our children". :)  My boys are not fans of Justin and have told Hallie some negative things concerning him, saying that he wasn't a good guy for her to marry.  She told them that he was going to repent and take her to the Temple! She also can't wait 'til her next birthday because she wants me to call and invite him.  Funny girl! She went with her sister to the Justin Beber movie and during it cried "because of happiness"!

Kidnapping

Emily Codner took her son Dallin, along with Taige & Tanner Mickelson to Brody Hibbert's house in order for the boys to kidnap him and take him to breakfast for his 10 year old birthday.
Emily said, it kind of ended up being more of an assault, than a kidnapping. They jumped him when they got in the house. Taige's job was to ducttape his mouth, Dallin's job was putting the pillow case over his head, and Tanner's was to strangle him.
Once they got him out to the car, they dressed him in a scarf, a kitty cay mask, and a crown, which he had to wear to breakfast. They kept him bagged till we got to the restaurant.
They lead him out of the car and into, "The Place," were we ate breakfast. Spencer just follows the big boys wherever they go.  After breakfast Emily dropped them off at school.  They made Brody go in his PJ's. After school Brody's Dad picked them all up and they went bowling for his birthday party.
I'm glad they are all such great friends.

MOORE of Hallie...

Last night Hallie was laying in her bed with Brooklyn and Brooklyn told me she got out a flashlight and scriptures, turned the flashlight on and told Brooklyn she had to read her scriptures before she went to sleep.  I wonder how many of the letters she recognized!
This morning she asked me to turn the song 'Dynamite' on.  She was eating her breakfast and I was practicing some of my dance moves in the kitchen when she groans and says, 'You are really creeping me out!"  Believe me, she was not joking in the least.  And I've been practicing so hard at Zumba each week! Will anyone ever appreciate my dancing?!  Probably the sweetest moment I've experienced with my mom since her passing was because of dancing.  For those who don't know me or haven't seen me dance with their own eyes, natural rhythm doesn't come naturally to me.  Before my first 'Beehive/Deacon' dance when I was 12 years old, my mom who I get my amazing dancing from no doubt, asked my cousin Marcy to come over and practice with me.  We practiced stepping side to side with the little toe tap and trying to feel the beat.  Anyway when Jordynn was probably close to that age, she was going to be singing in the school talent show, so I was passing on my amazing knowledge and skills trying to teach her the sway or side step.  Right in the middle of this process I glanced up at an 8 x 10 picture of my mom on a shelf above me and she was looking right at me literally laughing! I immediately 'joined' her so she'd be laughing with me and not at me! I say all of this trying to be funny, but even as I type tears are running down my face just as they did that day when we truly 'laughed together' as the generations and all that goes with it continued on!  I felt her presence stronger at that moment then I ever have since she's passed and I have felt very close to her on several occasions.  Most of those times I just cry because I miss her - it was so nice to experience a happy moment with her! (Even at my expense, I'll take it!)
