Kailan, Brooklyn, Taige and myself participated in the Climb for Cancer. It's a 7 mile hike up Snowbowl road to the ski resort. Once you reach the top they serve you a Chicken Caesar salad with a roll. It's a fun atmosphere with a live band playing. There were over 4,000 participants and 209 teams. It's an amazing community effort to raise funds to cure cancer. Our group that we signed up under was called 'Doing it For Dawson'. Dawson was a 9 year old boy who battled cancer. He lived just 3 doors down from us. It was heart breaking for our family when he passed away. His parents and sister still live on our street. This year our group raised $11,325! The total earned for the Climb to Conquer Cancer was $284,000. The picture above is a group shot with Dawson Merrick's family. Dawson's sister Delaney is the one with the balloons tied to her. This is just one of many groups who participated in the climb today here in Flagstaff.
